Vice Chancellor’s Message

It gives me an absolute honor and great privilege to write this message today to the cream of nation and inspiring professionals of Fatima Jinnah Medical University where I have fond memories of being a regular Vice Chancellor with best team.
Fatima Jinnah Medical College for women was established in 1948, named after the illustrious sister of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The institute was elevated to the status of Fatima Jinnah Medical University on 1st July, 2015.
It attracts the best talent not only from Pakistan but all over the world and countries of SAARC region as well. Among the three affiliated teaching hospitals, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is one of the oldest tertiary care hospital established in 1946.Its faculty consists of eminent professors and distinguished specialists, who are committed to the highest standards of teaching, training, research and service delivery.  The alumni of FJMU are pride of institute serving in the country and abroad. Again the credit goes to this esteemed institution that has given them the best education, professionalism and moral values.

Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University and MS SGRH Spend Eid-ul-Fitr with Patients and Onduty Doctors at Sir Ganga Ram HospitalThe Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, upheld his two-decade-long tradition by visiting Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. He along with MS spent the EID day with patients, onduty doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff, sharing moments of compassion and solidarity.On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Arif Iftikhar, HOD Dr. Shabbir Chauhan, as well as senior faculty members and members of the hospital administration, were also present.Accompanied by faculty members, the Vice Chancellor visited the hospital’s emergency department, medical and surgical wards, and pharmacy. He inquired after the well-being of patients, extended Eid best wishes , and prayed for speedy recovery. He also acknowledged the unwavering dedication of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff on duty, distributing Eidi among them as a gesture of appreciation.Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal remarked that Eid-ul-Fitr embodies the values of collective vision , sacrifice, and compassion. He commended the efforts of the Government of Punjab in providing quality healthcare facilities at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and expressed his sincere gratitude. He emphasized that serving ailing humanity represents the true spirit of Eid.He further appreciated the commitment of healthcare professionals who, despite being away from their families—many from distant regions and other provinces—continue to serve patients with dedication. He noted that such selflessness reflects the highest standards of professionalism, as they prioritize patient care over personal celebrations, a spirit that brings success in both this world and the hereafter.On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor also offered prayers for the all departed souls, particularly the martyrs, praying for their highest ranks and forgiveness. Three-Day Synopsis Writing Workshop for MD/MS Scholars at Fatima Jinnah Medical UniversityFatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) organized a three-day workshop for MD, MS, and MPhil scholars focused on synopsis writing, aiming to strengthen research skills and promote academic rigor among postgraduate trainees.Director, Department of Medical Education, Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the workshop, emphasizing the importance of structured methodology, ethical integrity, and analytical thinking in conducting high-quality research.The sessions introduced participants to the fundamentals of synopsis writing, covering key components such as the introduction, methodology, and structured proposal development. Hands-on practice enabled students to draft their own synopses under expert guidance.
