A ceremony was held today at FJMU, hosted by VC-FJMU Prof Khalid Masud Gondal and faculty, to honor the success of Dr Fakhira Anwar, announced the Best Graduate for 2021 in the recent convocation.
The Chief Guest was Honourable Minister for Health, Prof Javed Akram. Guest of Honor was Prof Abdul Majeed Choudhry, Ex Principal FJMC, while parents of Dr Fakhira Mr Muhammad Anwar, and Mrs Sughran Anwar were Special Guests. Also present on the occasion were ProVC Prof Kamran Khalid, Registrar FJMU Prof Nadeem Kasuri, Principal FJMC Prof Noreen Akmal, and senior faculty members. Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Chairperson Medicine/Director QEC/Dean Nursing was the organising and stage secretary. Dr Fakhira is holder of 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals and distinctions in 9 subjects, and the Best Graduate, which add up to a total of 20 honors.
The VC-FJMU Prof Khalid Masud Gondal in his welcome note presented the achievements of FJMU over last 2 months , including introduction of monthly Newsletter, updates on International ranking, faculty of Nursing and participation of FJMU ìn various events.
Prof Javed Akram appreciated the efforts of the University in bringing up such graduates. He announced Gold Medal for Best Graduate in his name at FJMU, first recipient being Dr Fakhira Anwar.
Prof Majeed Choudhry appreciated Dr Fakhira efforts and gifted her with cash prize on her success.
VC FJMU and faculty presented to her cash prize of Rs 100000 as a token of appreciation. On this occasion, Mr Muhammad Anwar expressed his gratitude at the tender upbringing of her daughter and upholding merit and providing conducive environment for students as they seek their careers . He appreciated how her daughter has been taught and mentored at the University by the faculty.
