Surgical Unit 1 is being spearheaded by Professor Kamran Khalid. The faculty also includes four Assistant Professors and three Senior Registrars. The well qualified and experienced team undertakes complete range of surgical procedures including complex procedures for advanced conditions.
The unit also offers a wide variety of clinical and research opportunities to undergraduate and postgraduate students with publications in prestigious National and International, impact factor journals. All the faculty, residents, house surgeons and medical students rotating in the unit are encouraged to participate in the research, undertaken by the department. There are regular morbidity and mortality, clinical audit, and CPC meetings to improve the quality of patient care. The spirit of the unit is to provide learning and services in the best interest of the students, researchers, and patients and to serve the underprivileged above and beyond.
