The Academic Council shall consist of:

(a) Vice Chancellor. who shall be its chairperson;

(b) Pro-Vice Chancellor;

(c) Deans;

(d) chairpersons

(e) one retired Principal or Professor of Fatima Jinnah Medical College or the University nominated by the Syndicate;

(f) all Professors including Professors Emeritus;

(g) two Associate Professors, two Assistant Professors and two lecturers to be elected from amongst themselves;

(h) three academicians of eminence including at least two women to be nominated by the Syndicate;

(I) Secretary to the Government, Health Department or a nominee not below the rank of Deputy Secretary; five experts including at least two women in the field of medical education to be nominated by the Chancellor;

(k) Registrar (Member/ Secretary);

(I) Controller of Examinations; and

(m) Librarian of the University;

(2) The members of the Academic Council, other than ex-officio members, shall hold office for three year, and if the office of any such member becomes vacant before the expiry of the term, the vacancy shall be filled for the remaining period in the prescribed manner.

(3) The quorum for a meeting of the Academic Council shall be one-third of the total number of members, a fraction being counted as one.
