Khawaja, Ex-Pro Vice Chancellor, FJMU, Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Ex-Pro Vice Chancellor, FJMU, Prof. Shireen Khawar, Chairperson Department of Medicine/ Dean Faculty of Nursing/ Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Ex-Treasurer/ Dean Neurosciences Prof. Abdul Hameed, Treasurer, FJMU Mr. Tariq Saeed, Chartered Accountant, Mr. Ale Imran Siddiqi, Ex-Chief Executive Officer, Energy Department, Govt. of the Punjab, Mr. Syed Farrukh Ali, Medical Superintendent, SGRH Dr. Amir Saleem, Medical Superintendent, GTHS, Dr. Sohail Arshad, Medical Superintendent, GMTH Dr. Muhammad Ahsan Awan, Principal College of Nursing & Midwifery, SGRH Ms. Shazia Eshaq, and Principal College of Nursing GTHS, Ms. Khadija, along with other members of the Syndicate, attended the meeting.
The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran.
Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal gave a detailed briefing on ongoing Educational, Research Activities in the University. He informed the house that FJMU has achieved yet another remarkable milestone, securing a prominent position among the top 800 to 1000 universities globally in the prestigious Times Higher Education Impact Ranking. This outstanding recognition not only places FJMU among the world’s leading academic institutions but also positions it as the top-ranked medical university in Punjab and the third among all medical universities in Pakistan. The credit goes to the Quality Enhancement Cell, headed by Prof. Bilquis Shabbir and the Faculty of FJMU. This recent achievement adds to FJMU’s list of accolades, as the World University with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking previously ranked it among the top 200 to 300 most innovative universities. Notably, FJMU stands proud as one of only 10 Pakistani universities to earn a place in the esteemed WURI ranking. These accolades serve as a testament to FJMU’s pioneering spirit and its relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence. He further apprised that FJMU has obtained membership in two prestigious organisations, namely the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN), in the year 2023. These affiliations further validate FJMU’s commitment to global academic collaborations, fostering sustainable development, and ensuring educational quality benchmarks.
Prof. Dr. Javed Akram praised and paid tribute for achieving this milestone.
In the meeting, the recommendations from the Academic Council FJMU and Finance and Planning Committee FJMU were presented by the Registrar, FJMU and Deputy Treasurer, FJMU for approval of the Annual Budget 2023-24 of Fatima Jinnah Medical University and its three Allied Hospitals and Institutions, Procurement Plan, Service Delivery and Development Projects, Extension of Faculty and other financial matters, which were approved by the Syndicate, FJMU.
The Hon’ble Minister Health Punjab Dr. Javed Akram emphasized to strengthen the finances with our own resources. Special attention is being given to quality research in the medical institutions of Punjab. He said that special attention is being paid to quality research in medical schools of Punjab. The best educational environment is being provided to students in the medical institutions of Punjab. He expressed his pleasure that the meeting was organized in a very well manner. All the decisions in the meeting were taken for the welfare of the ailing humanity.
The meeting was ended with the vote of Thanks by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal.

After the meeting, the Hon’ble Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram visited Dreamland Hostel along with the Worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal and reviewed the construction works.
