A Srilankan delegate consisting of Prof Bawantha Gamage, General Secretary of SAARC Surgical Care Society , Prof Mohan De Silva, President Minimal Access Surgeries of Srilanka visited FJMU on 2/9/2023 at 11:45 a.m . He was accompanied by our teacher Prof Majeed Choudhry, former Principal FJMC.The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal warmly welcomed the guests along with Principal FJMU Prof Noreen Akmal , Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Nadeem and Deans Prof dr Kamran Khalid Chairperson General Surgery, Prof Aisha Malik Chairperson Obstetric & Gynae ,Dean Undergraduate Prof Munizza Qayyum , Dean Basic Sciences Prof Munazza Iqbal, Professor Bilquis Shabbir Chairperson Medicine/ Director QEC , FJMU , Dr Umbreen Aslam AP Medicine FJMU. The Vice Chancellor shared brief history of FJMU and details of FJMU academic programs and FJMU public service initiatives.
Prof Bawantha Gamage exchanged notes of thanks for the warm reception, appreciated the standard of fjmu graduates going back and serving in Srilanka. He presented his authored book on Surgery to FJMU.
The delegate also met with the Srilankan students studying in FJMU. Students showed their satisfaction and gave pleasant remarks about the University. Souvenirs were presented to delegate by the Vice Chancellor with a note of thanks.
