A WORKSHOP ON “OUTREACH ACTIVITIES FOR PhD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME UNDER US-PAKISTAN- KNOWLEDGE CORRIDOR

arranged by FINANCIAL AID OFFICE, FJMU under patronship of VC FJMU Prof Khalid Masud Gondal was held at FJMU to create awareness and facilitate students and faculty members of FJMUin the entrance into various HEC sponsored Certificate and PhD programs in various US universities.

Honourable guests were received by VC, FJMU Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Convenor Scholarship Committee Professor Muniza Qayyum , Director QEC Professor Bilquis Shabbir, Add. Registrar Dr. Sajjad Sarwar, HOD Community Medicine Dr. Tehseen Zahra and Deputy Director financial aid FJMU/Focal person Scholarship BUSP, Dr. Sofia Abbasi.

DG scholarship Madam Ayesha Ikram with the Project Manager gave a presentation on PHD scholarships under US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor open for interested candidates from medical universities and to discuss the smooth conduction of scholarship project Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship Programme (BUSP) .

Madam Ayesha Ikram discussed the eligibility criteria and the procedure of applying for PHD scholarship programme and Mr. Atif presented the main points of the program

Among many non-PhD faculty members who attended the event and benefited from this informative session. Brochures were distributed among the participants for further guidance.

A large number of students have benefited at Fatima Jinnah Medical University from the Benazir Undergraduate scholarship programme BUSP in the last three years. The programme was discussed exclusively to make it more accessible for our students. In addition to this FJMU takes the pride and solace in the fact that it has a very well organised and eloborate Financial Aid system for facilitating the financially deprived students. To expedite this we have with us our ALUMNI, HEC need based scholarships, Professional education foundation PEF( Karachi), FAMS( Uk based organisation), AFJOG and a number of NGOs and personal donors.

VC expressed keen interest in the program and expressed the interest in active participation of FJMU students and faculty on all fronts.

At the end of this event , a shield was presented by VC Professor Khalid Masood Gondal to DG Scholarship HEC…Among many non-PhD faculty members who attended the session some of the notable participants were Dr Taskeen Zahra HOD Community Medicine, Dr. GulPash Sagheer Associate Professor Pharmacology, Dr .Saira Munawar Associate Professor Anatomy and Dr. Muhammad Shahid Saeed.
