Professor Bilquis Shabbir, currently serving as the Acting Principal, Dean of Nursing, Director of Q-E-C, and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, has received a distinguished honor from the Government of Pakistan. She has been nominated for the Presidential Medal for Excellence, a prestigious Civil Award that highlights her exceptional contributions. Graduating as the “Best Graduate ” from Fatima Jinnah Medical College in 1996 , having received 12 medals, she has impressive academic record. With previous roles as the Chairperson of the Department of Medicine and Dean of Nursing at King Edward Medical University, her professional journey is illustrious.
Notably, one of her significant contribution includes the establishment of Kashani Basti, now renamed as Fatima Jinnah Basti, which encompasses a more than 150 medical relief camp, committee center, dispensary, and school. Her leadership in the role of the Head of the Department of Medicine, Director of Q-E-C, and Dean at Fatima Jinnah Medical University has played a pivotal role in elevating the institution’s universal ranking in medical practice, education, research, and quality assurance. Due to Professor Bilquis Shabbir’s relentless dedication, the university achieved a remarkable ranking in the Time Higher Ranking for the very first time in the country. Earlier today, Professor Bilquis Shabbir, along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal and esteemed faculty members, commemorated these achievements by partaking in a cake-cutting ceremony. Acknowledging the collective effort, Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal congratulated Professor Bilquis Shabbir and all faculty of FJMU. He attributed these accomplishments to the committed alumni and faculty members of Fatima Jinnah Medical University.
