The Department of Medical Education (DME), FJMU, organized Examination of Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE) course batch 7th on October 7, 2023, under the kind patronage of the worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, and under the supervision of the Principal, FJMC/ Director, DME, FJMU Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal.
A total of 26 students appeared in the OSTE exam.
The exam was assisted by 20 Examiners and Co-Examiners, comprising of internal and external faculty members.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja personally monitored the exam preparations and gave insightful comments and feedback on the examination system.
Prof. Rose K. Madan established the Department of Medical Education at Fatima Jinnah Medical College in 1986. The CHPE course was started in 2019. It is a six-month certificate course consisting of three face-to-face contact sessions.
Until now, approximately 150 students have passed the CHPE.
The mission of DME Fatima Jinnah Medical University is to promote Professionalism and Excellence in Medical Education.
The Department of Medical Education at FJMU is actively involved in organizing Faculty Development Workshops & continuing activities in Health Professionals Education, promoting Research & Publication in Medical Education and conducting a 6-month months Certification course in Health Professions Education.
