FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THALASSEMIA CLINIC AT GOVT. TEACHING HOSPITAL SHAHDARA LAHORE

The Thalassemia Clinic was first established in 2022 and inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal.
Thalassemia is a condition that affects many lives, and the establishment of a thalassemia clinic at Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara, Lahore, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to addressing the health care needs of those impacted by this disorder.
The esteemed Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, accompanied by Chairperson Department of Medicine/ Director QEC/ Dean Nursing, Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir as Guest of Honour.
To date, more than 100 children have been registered in the thalassemia ward of GTHS, and this centre provides free transfusion, chelation, and treatment for thalassemic patients.
Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, and Medical Superintendent GTHS, Dr. Faryad Hussain, distributed gifts to Thalassemic patients, and a cake cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the first ceremony of the patient welfare project.
