FIRST CONTACT SESSION OF 09TH BATCH OF CHPE

The Department of Medical Education FJMU organized the 1st contact Session of Batch 9th of Certificate in Health Professionals Education (CHPE) course from February 19 to 21, 2024, under the kind patronage of worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Presidential Pride of Performance) and under the supervision of Principal, Fatima Jinnah Medical College and Director Medical Education Department, Prof. Noreen Akmal.

The esteemed Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal chaired today’s session.

Former Head of Pharmacology Department & Former Dean of Basic Science Prof. Dr. Muniza Qayyum graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The Vice Chancellor’s speech was full of motivation. He expressed his vision regarding medical education in Pakistan and the role of Fatima Jinnah Medical University in promoting excellence in medical education.

Prof. Dr. Asghar Naqi, Prof of Surgery and renowned Medical Educationist facilitated today’s session. He taught the participants about teaching-learning theories, teaching methodologies, educational psychology, and critical thinking.

There were a total of 28 students enrolled in this batch. Out of these, 14 were from the FJMU and affiliated institutions, and 14 were from other teaching institutions and hospitals in the country.

Pro-Vice Chancellor, FJMU/ Chairperson Department of Surgery, Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja and Director, QEC/ Chairperson, Department of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir also attended the session.

Dr. Farah Rehman, Assistant Professor of Medical Department Education, organized and coordinated the session.
