A pre-scientific conference workshop was conducted on diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy organised by Department of Medicine Unit 1 (Gastroenterology Division) SGRH, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir (Chairperson Medicine Department/Dean Nursing/Director QEC) and Assistant Professor Gastroenterology Dr.Muhammad Ayub Naich FJMU/ SGRH.
The esteemed Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal (Tamgha e Imtiaz & Presidential Pride of Performance), graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
He gave his valuable advice to doctors about the importance of this workshop. He appreciated the efforts of the Gastroenterology Department in arranging hands-on workshops for better training of students and doctors.
Prof. Dr. Shahid Sarwar, HOD of the Gastroenterology Department (Allama Iqbal Medical College), Assistant Professor Gastroenterology Dr.Ghulam Abbas (Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore), Assistant Professor Gastroenterology Dr. Najam-us-Sehar (Gujranwala Medical College) graced the occasion as Guest of Honor.
A total of four cases were done today. One case of esophageal stricture dilatation. Second case of esophageal varices band ligation, Third case of colonic polypectomy, and Fourth case of diagnostic colonoscopy per rectal bleed facilitated by Prof. Dr. Shahid Sarwar HOD Gastroenterology Department Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, Assistant Professor Gastroenterology Dr.Muhammad Ayub Naich FJMU/ SGRH, Assistant Professor Dr. Najam Us Sehar Gujranwala Medical College, and Assistant Professor Gastroenterology Dr Ghulam Abbas Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore.
At the end of the workshop, the worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, distributed the shields among the guests and organziers of the workshop.
