The Department of Histopathology organized a workshop on “Role of Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Pathology” under the kind patronage of the esteemed Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ameena Ashraf (Chairperson, Department of Pathology, FJMU).
The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja welcomed Dr Hibba Haider , President FJMCAANA as the Chief Guest.
Prof. Dr. Munazza Iqbal, Former Head of Pathology Department/ Visiting Consultant Pathology, graced the occasion Guest of Honour.
Dr. Asima Naz participated as key note speaker. She is an Associate Professor/Consultant Histopathologist with FCPS as well as foreign qualifications (FRCPath).
The workshop was attended by the entire Department of Pathology, including Head of Histopathology Section Dr. Asmaa Qureshi, Head of Haematology Prof. Dr. Humera Rafiq, Head of Microbiology Dr. Sumayya Sikander Beg, and Incharge of Chemical Pathology Dr. H. M. Umair.
A large number of students, PGRs, and consultants from various institutions attended the workshop with great enthusiasm to have an opportunity to listen to this very interesting scientific lecture.
The workshop started with an introductory note by Dr. Asima Naz. She then gave an insight into all innovations and updates on the use of Artificial Intelligence in digital pathology in an extremely elaborative manner.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, appreciated the Department of Histopathology for organizing this workshop on such an updated scientific revolution.
Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir concluded with some final thoughts on the importance and need of Artificial Intelligence in various areas of pathology.
