A workshop on osteoporosis was organised by Medical Unit-I, Rheumatology, FJMU/ SGRH Lahore.
The respected Vice Chancellor, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal, graced the occasion and thanked all the esteemed panellists for participating in the event.
Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Principal FJMU, Prof. Noreen Akmal, and other faculty members attended the session.
Chairperson Department of Medicine/Director Quality Enhancement Cell/Dean Nursing Prof Bilquis Shabbir welcomed the guests and introduced the purpose of the workshop.
The format of the workshop was panel discussions and interactive sessions. The event was unique in the aspect that it was facilitated by the most highly rated Rheumatologists and Endocrinologists of the city.
The panelists included Prof. Dr. Nighat Mir, Prof. Ali Jawa, Dr. Saira Khan, Dr. Yasir Imran, Dr. Hafeeza Naz, & Dr. Uneeba Syed.FJMU faculty also actively participated, including Prof. Dr. Naeem Afzal, Prof. Dr. M. Aftab, Dr. Fehmida Farrukh Khan, Dr M Ayub Naich, Dr. Noor ul Ain, Dr. Shahid Anwar (HOD Nephrology), and Dr. Shahid (Physiology).
The discussion was done considering the following burning questions on the topic:
1. Whom to suspect Osteoporosis
2. How to work up for diagnosing it
3. How to interpret labs and DEXA
4. Management basics
In the end, Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Chief Organiser, thanked all the members of the team, including Dr. Bilal Azeem Butt, Dr. Faizan Ahmad, Dr. Zia ul Haq, Dr. Shoaib, and the entire Medical 1 team.
