An enlightening and comprehensive prescientific workshop on the WHO Labour Care Guide was conducted by Gynae Unit 3, under the adept leadership of Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, the esteemed Vice Chancellor of FJMU.
The workshop was meticulously organized by the dynamic and enthusiastic Professor Shamila Ijaz Munir, the Head of Gynae Unit 3.
The conference unfolded in the main conference hall of the MCH block, presided over by the proficient Prof. Dr. Kamran Khawaja, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of the Surgical Department, and co-chaired by Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabir, the accomplished Chairperson Department of Medicine.
Prof. Shamila Ijaz Munir shed light on the focal point of the workshop, which was to learn and inculcate a WHO-designed Labour Care guide to reduce the caesarean section rate.
Dr. Tayyiba Tahira, the main facilitator, said that the workshop specifically aims to introduce respectful maternity care and companion support in labour, which enhances and encourages normal vaginal delivery.
In attendance were residents, house officers, and nursing staff from various gynecological departments, making the event a comprehensive gathering. The other workshop’s facilitators were Dr. Farzana, Associate Professor; Dr. Amna, Associate Professor; Dr. Aliya, Assistant Professor; Dr. Yasmeen, Assistant Professor; along with all the Senior Registrars of Gynae 3.
The workshop reached its conclusion with a dedicated address by Prof. Dr. Kamran Khawaja, followed by a light informal talk by Prof. Bilqis Shabbir.
