A pre-scientific conference workshop on “Refractive Surgery Trends and Views” was organised by the Department of Ophthalmology, SGRH, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Huma Kayani, HOD, Ophthalmology Department.
The esteemed Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal (Tamgha e Imtiaz & Presidential Pride of Performance), graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He gave his valuable advice to doctors about the importance of this workshop. He appreciated the efforts of the Ophthalmology Department in arranging workshop for better training of students and the excellent services provided by the Ophthalmology Department, especially regarding Corneal Transplants, which is a gift of sight to blind patients.Pro-vice Chancellor Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Principal FJMU Prof. Noreen Akmal, and Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Chairperson, Department of Medicine, also attended the workshop. A total of 30 participants from the Ophthalmology Department attended the workshop. There were two lectures from renowned subject specialists from other institutes. Prof. Lt. Col. Sadia Hamayun from CMH, Lahore, talked about the workup of the refractive procedure patients and the choice of procedure to be done, and Prof. Col. Jamshed Nasir shared his experience regarding refractive clear lens extraction and premium intraocular lens implants.
After the lecture, a question-and-answer session was held, which helped in removing the queries regarding refractive surgery.
At the end of the workshop, the worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, distributed the certificates and shields among the guest speakers.
