A pre-scientific workshop on “APPROACH TO PROTEINURIA” was organized by the Nephrology Department under the supervision of Associate Prof. Dr. Shahid Anwar (HOD Nephrology) at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore.
Principle, FJMU Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal and Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir (Chairperson, Department of Medicine/Quality Enhancement Cell/ Dean Nursing) graced the occasion as chief guests.
The main objective of today’s workshop was to educate the participants on the assessment and how to approach PROTEINURIA.
Dr. Shahid Anwar, HOD Nephrology, led the presentation. Dr. Bilal Azeem Butt, Dr. Sajjad Ahmed, Dr. Hafiz Tahir, Dr. Hafiz Salman, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, senior faculty members, and postgraduate and undergraduate students attended the workshop.
Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir stated that such kinds of educational initiatives are very important for the medical professionals. She said that the approach to proteinuria and its management is important for all the postgraduate residents, especially those in gynaecology and medicine, because they have daily encounters with such patients. She further said that the majority of patients come with this kind of condition in the late stages of the disease, which makes it difficult to diagnose and manage.
At the end of her speech, she praised the Nephrology Department for arranging this important academic activity. She highly appreciated and thanked Prof. Shahid Anwar for organizing the workshop and congratulated the nephrology team for this impressive academic activities, indicating a multidisciplinary approach.
Following this, a short, healthy session of questions and answers was done.
At the end, Prof.Noreen Akmal and Prof. Bilquis Shabbir distributed the certificates among the participants of the workshop.
