A pre-scientific workshop on “Gender Equity and Women Leadership” was organized by the Department of Community Medicine under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Taskeen Zahra (HOD Community Medicine) at FJMU, Lahore. The patron-in-chief of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal (Tamgh-e-Imtiaz and Presidential Pride of Performance), Vice Chancellor, FJMU, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir (Chairperson, Department of Medicine/ Director QEC/Dean Nursing, FJMU) and the secretary organizing committee also graced the occasion. Mr. Muhammad Asim (Chief Instructor, Civil Services Academy) facilitated the session. The objective of the workshop was to foster awareness and understanding of gender equity, providing participants with actionable insights to promote women’s leadership in various spheres. Faculty members from FJMC and the Principal College of Nursing and Midwifery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Mrs. Zumard Khursheed, and nursing instructors also participated enthusiastically. The workshop ended with a question-and-answer session and a promise to recognize the role of women in leadership.
