PRE-SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP ON WHO LABOUR CARE GUIDE
A Pre-Scientific Conference Workshop “WHO LABOUR CARE GUIDE” was organized by Obst. & Gynae Unit-II, FJMU/ SGRH, under the kind patronage of esteemed Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal and under the benevolent supervision of Principal and HOD Gyne Unit II Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal. Prof Kamran Khalid, ProVC FJMU , and Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Chairperson Department of Medicine/Director QEC/Dean Nursing were invited as guests of honor. The workshop was held in the Conference Hall of the Mother & Child Block, SGRH. It was attended by not only the residents of all four Gynae units of SGRH but also by the female doctors managing women in labour in their own private setups.
During the session, it was acknowledged that effective monitoring of labour is much needed, with the importance of respectful maternity care and its expected role in reducing the rate of caesarean sections being highlighted.
The workshop aimed to enhance the residents’ capabilities in taking care of women in labour.
This exclusive initiative involved team-based, hands-on training for adequate and accurate plotting of Labour on the WHO LABOUR CARE GUIDE.
Such progressive measures not only improve the standard of our institutional training but also provide residents with exposure to international protocols.
Congratulations to Prof. Noreen Akmal and her dedicated team, including Associate Professor Dr. Aliya Zainab, Assistant Professor Dr. Shazia Haider and Dr. Shazia Sehgal, and Senior Registrars Dr.Khola, Dr. Sadia, Dr. Humna, and Dr. Nagza.Dr.Zeenat for their exceptional efforts in orchestrating this impactful workshop.
The session was concluded with the distribution of certificates among facilitators and participants.
