*HON’BLE PROVISIONAL HEALTH MINISTER PUNJAB, MR. KHAWAJA SALMAN RAFIQUE INAUGURATED THE FISTULA CENTRE AND ROP TELEMEDICINE AT GOVT. TEACHING HOSPITAL SHAHDARA LAHORE*

The Hon’ble Provincial Health Minister Punjab, Mr. Khawaja Salman Rafique, along with Vice Chancellor FJMU, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, and Member Provincial Assembly Punjab, Mr. Sami Ullah Khan, inaugurated the Fistula Centre and ROP Telemedicine at Govt. Teaching Hospital Shahdara Lahore.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid, MS SGRH Prof. Dr. Hafiz Moin Ud Din, Chairperson Medicine Department Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir, MS GTHS Dr. Faryad Hussain, and other faculty members were present on this occasion.

The Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, presented a bouquet of flowers to the Hon’ble Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and welcomed him.

The Hon’ble Provincial Health Minister, Mr. Khawaja Salman Rafique, also graced the event as a Special Guest.

The Hon’ble Provincial Health Minister visited the Thalassemia Ward and also distributed gifts among Thalassemic Child patients.

The Hon’ble Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, while addressing, said that I congratulate the Administration of Govt. Teaching Hospital Shahdara for providing better healthcare facilities to thousands of people around Shahdara. He further said that all other requirements, including Human Resource at the Govt. Teaching Hospital Shahdara, will be addressed on a top-priority basis. He emphasized that there will be no difficulty in the treatment of patients at Shahdara Teaching Hospital. We are trying to provide maximum relief to patients in Govt. Hospitals, and no patient should refer to other hospital. We are also trying to make Govt. Teaching Hospital Shahdara a complete tertiary care hospital in the true sense.

Govt. Teaching Hospital Shahdara is being equipped with modern medical facilities, and we have plans to introduce Mother and Child Healthcare facility in the future manifesto. Special monitoring teams have been constituted to encounter malpractices in government hospitals. Patient care is our top priority. Efforts are being made to complete the ongoing revamping project in Government hospitals as early as possible.

He concluded that a state-of-the-art Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research in Lahore and a Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha are going to be built soon.

The worthy Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal thanked the Hon’ble Provincial Health Minister, Mr. Khawaja Salman Rafique, for gracing the occasion despite of his busy schedule. He also appreciated the Member of the Punjab Assembly, Mr. Samiullah Khan, for his valuable services. He said that Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja and Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir are role models for us, due to their remarkable services. He concluded that Shahdara Teaching Hospital was neglected in the past, but now the time has come for its improvement.

Member Punjab Assembly Mr. Samiullah Khan thanked the Hon’ble Health Minister Punjab, Mr. Khawaja Salman Rafique, for his valuable time. He said that the Medical Superintendent Govt. Teaching Hospital Shahdara is striving for the best health facilities. He further said that Mr. Khawaja Salman Rafique has always been a part of the Health Department.

At the end, Certificates were distributed among the employees as per their best performances.
