Minister of Health, Punjab, Prof Javed Akram, visited Fatima Jinnah Medical University in continuation with his previous meeting on Monday 22nd May, 2023, and met VC-FJMU Prof Khalid were laid down

A meeting regarding collaboration between Women Chamber of Commerce and Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), Lahore was held under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister for Health, SHC&ME Department, Punjab at FJMU, Lahore.

Dr. Shehla Javed Akram, Ex-Chairperson, Women Chamber of Commerce; Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, Vice Chancellor, FJMU; Prof. Dr. Muniza Qayyum, tetired Dean Undergraduate, FJMU; Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal, Principal, FJMC; Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir,Chairperson Medicine/Director QEC/Dean Nursing, FJMU; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nadeem, Registrar, FJMU; Prof. Dr. Munnaza Iqbal, Dean Undergraduate, FJMU; Dr. Azra Mahmud, Director ORIC, FJMU and Dr. Taskeen Zahra, HOD Community Medicine, FJMU attended the meeting.

Health Minister Punjab Professor Dr. Javed Akram said that an agreement is going to be initiated between Fatima Jinnah Medical University and Women’s Chamber of Commerce regarding Modern Research in the Medical World.

Under the agreement, Fatima Jinnah Medical University will carry out advanced research in the departments of Forensic Medicine and Pathology. Interest-free loans will also be offered to fourth and final year medical students. Fatima Jinnah Medical University has been entrusted with Advanced Research Projects. He further apprised that we are trying our best to promote modern research in the medical schools of Punjab. Today, the whole world is paying special attention to modern research. Quality research will be appreciated in medical schools of Punjab.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal said that a special committee consisting of professors has been formed to consider various proposals regarding the agreement between Fatima Jinnah Medical University and Women Chamber of Commerce.

Fatima Jinnah Medical University has been paying special attention to innovative research since day one. Inshallah Fatima Jinnah Medical University’s research paper will be accepted all over the world.

On this occasion plans were laid down fir:

1- Research projects and pilot studies

2- Business Incubation projects

3- Awareness programs and training workshops to create an environment of Business Incubation at the institution in collaboration with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and other universities.
