MODELS COMPETITION AT FATIMA JINNAH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

The Department of Pharmacology organised a Models Competition for students of 3rd year MBBS at FJMU/SGRH on August 30, 2023.

The Worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Ex-Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Shamsa Humayun, Ex-Dean Basic Sciences Prof. Dr. Munazza Iqbal, and Ex-Dean Undergraduate Prof. Muniza Qayyum and faculty members also attended the competition.

The Models competition was judged by Principal FJMU Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal, Chairperson Medicine/Dean Nursing/Director Quality Enhancement Cell Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir, and Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Kasuri.

All the preparations for the competition were supervised by the Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Lubna Amir, and Dr. Muniza Qayyum.

Associate Professor Dr. Gulpash Saghir, Assistant Professor Dr. Nazia Rashid, and all the demonstrators served as facilitators of that competition, along with the postgraduate residents of pharmacology.

All the students in the 3rd year participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. The event was a huge success with active participation of students who displayed their Models covering the themes of Angina Pectoris, B-Adrenergic Receptors and Antibiotics Effect on Protein Synthesis etc.

The Models were highly academic, presenting not only the educational skills of our students but also their talents. The students participated in the event in the form of groups.

1st Position of Model Competition was secured by Group 1, which consisted of Ms. Sana Karamat, Ms. Hina Shafiq, Ms. Kainat Naseer, Ms. Nimra Tanweer, Ms. Aqsa Zafar, Ms. Fatima Zulfiqar, Ms. Amina Masud Gondal, Ms. Aliza Abrar, Ms. Iqra Zulfiqar, and Ms. Shamaim Sarwar, and Group 2, which consisted of Ms. Shiza Naveed, Ms. Atiqa Naveed, Ms. Momina Sarwar, Ms. Tahreem Shahid, Ms. Ayesha Khan, Ms. Maryam, Ms. Mehreen Fatima, Ms. Urwa Tariq, Ms. Maryam Naveed, and Ms. Enub Atif.

2nd position of Model Competition was secured by Group 3 which was leaded by Ms. Mahnoor Ali.

3rd position of Model competition was secured by Group 6, which was leaded by Ms. Laiba Iftikhar.

The Head of Pharmacology Department hoped that this type of academic activity would be continued under the kind patronage of the worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal, in the future, insha’Allah.
