NURSING, MIDWIFERY AND ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES PROGRAMS MEETING AT FATIMA JINNAH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, LAHORE

Steering Committee Meeting of BSc Midwifery Program was organized at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore under the Chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal Vice Chancellor FJMU.

SHC&ME Department, Prof. Shamsa Humayun Pro-Vice Chancellor FJMU, Prof. Zohra Khanum Professor of Obst. & Gynae/ Dean Nursing & Allied Specialties FJMU, Prof. Muhammad Nadeem Registrar FJMU, Dr. Aamer Mufti Medical Superintendent GTHS, Dr. Syed Sajjad Sarwar Additional Registrar/ Consultant University Reforms FJMU, Ms. Bilquis Akhter Principal CoN&W SGRH, Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Shehzad Technical Specialist Punjab UNFPA Islamabad, Mr. Rizwan Ul Haq, Associate Program & Operations UNFPA Islamabad, Dr. Naila Yasmin Program Analyst M/E UNFPA, Dr. Maryam Sarfaraz Health Services Academy, Islamabad and Dr. Mommnah Asad PWD UNFPA Islamabad attended the meeting.

A comprehensive discussion on BSc Midwifery Program was held in meeting. Several points were raised which include Infrasturucture Development, Curriculum & Academics, Fee Structure and Piloting of BSc Midwifery Program firstever in Public Sector Institutions.

Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal apprised that FJMU will facilitate this BSc Midwifery Program and support will be provided by the University.

Additional Secretary (Est.) SHC&ME Department Ms. Qurat-Ul-Ain Memon apprised that BSc Midwifery Program is the vision of Prof. Dr. Yasmin Rashid Minister for Health Govt. of the Punjab. She further explained that the UNFPA is the prime partner of this program.

At the end of the Meeting, Pro-Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Dr. Shamsaa Humayun thanked all the participants and Vice Chancellor FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal awarded Ms. Qurat-Ul-Ain Memon Additional Secretary (Est.) SHC&ME Department with the Souvenir.
