PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP ON BASICS OF MECHANICAL VENTILATION AND VENTILATORY STRATEGIES FOR ARDS PATIENT

A pre-scientific conference workshop on “the Basics of Mechanical Ventilation and Ventilatory Strategies for ARDS” was organised by Department of Anaesthesia, SGRH, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muzamil Hussain, HOD, Anaesthesia Department, and Prof.Dr. Liaqat Ali, Professor of Anaesthesia, SGRH.

The esteemed Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal (Tamgha e Imtiaz & Presidential Pride of Performance), graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He gave his valuable advice to doctors about the importance of this workshop. He appreciated the efforts of the Anaesthesia Department in arranging hands-on workshops for better training of students and doctors.

Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Chairperson, Department of Medicine/Director QEC/Dean Faculty of Nursing and Organizing Secretary for Annual Scientific Conference also attended the workshop.

Total 32 participants from the Anaesthesia Department attended the workshop. There were 3 hands-on training stations: station 1, Oxygen Delivery Devices, facilitated by Dr. Sheikh Ziarat Ali, Assistant Professor Anaesthesia Dept. SGRH; station 2, Non-Invasive Ventilation, facilitated by Prof. Dr. Muzamil Hussain (HOD Anaesthesia Department) and Dr.Tauseef Ahmad (SR); and station 3, Invasive Ventilation, facilitated by Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali (Professor Anaesthesia Dept.) and Dr. Fariha (SR).

The material and pretest regarding the workshop were shared one day before the workshop. After the workshop, there was a post-test and feedback proforma that was shared with the participants to be filled out.

At the end of the workshop, the worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal distributed the Certificates among the participants of the workshop.
