PRIME MINISTER’S YOUTH LAPTOP SCHEME 2023 LAPTOP DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY AT FJMU

Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), Lahore, hosted the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023 Laptop Distribution Ceremony, a flagship project of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, on Thursday, December 7, 2023. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan carried out the ceremony.
The Hon’ble Minister for Health Punjab, Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, and senior member of the Syndicate FJMU, Mr. Syed Farrukh Ali, graced the occasion as chief guests.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawja, Principal FJMC Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal, Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammed Nadeem, Director Quality Enhancement Cell/ Dean Nursing Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir, Deans, faculty members, students, and their parents also attended this memorable ceremony.
The distinguished representative from HEC, Mr. Jamal Shah, Assistant Director of HEC, also attended the ceremony.
In the welcome address, Principal Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal welcomed all the distinguished guests. She highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to encouraging young learners in their studies and digital empowerment and announced the distribution of 185 laptops to meritorious students of FJMU and its allied institutions.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, Vice Chancellor of FJMU, said this is a remarkable incentive for the talented students provided by the government of Pakistan and HEC. He said that you should always remember two things: keep yourself in the prayers of your parents and always show respect for your respected teacher. These things make men successful. He further informed that the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2023 aims to bridge the digital divide and equip talented students with the tools they need to excel in their academic pursuits. This visionary program reflects the government’s dedication to harnessing the potential of our young minds and preparing them for the challenges of the modern world.
The Hon’ble Minister for Health, Punjab, Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, said that the government has given opportunities to deserving and talented students on a pure merit basis. He emphasized the significance of technology in education and its role in shaping a progressive and knowledge-based society. He also highlighted the strong partnership between the government and educational institutions in uplifting the nation through education. He said that we believe that empowering our youth with the latest technology is an investment in the future of Pakistan.
During the event, Fatima Jinnah Medical University was proud to witness the joy and enthusiasm of the students as they received their laptops, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey. These laptops will serve as powerful tools, enabling them to access a vast reservoir of knowledge and explore new horizons in education.
