RESEARCH METHODOLOGY WORKSHOP ON”SCIENTIFIC WRITING AND PUBLICATION IN THE ERA OF AI” HELD AT FATIMA JINNAH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, LAHORE

A training workshop for doctors, including consultants, faculty, and postgraduate residents, on scientific writing and publication in the era of AI was organised by Prof.Dr. Bilquis Shabbir (Chairperson Dept. of Medicine, Director QEC/ Dean Nursing & Allied Specialties), at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore for faculty and senior doctors.

Pro Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Prof.Dr. Bilquis Shabbir and her team welcomed the Chief Guest and facilitator Prof.Dr. Ayesha Humayun (Vice Principal, SKBZN M&D College and HOD Public Health and Community Medicine, SZPGMI, LHR.

Professor Cardiology, Prof. Bilal Mohiuddin; HOD Obst & Gynae Unit IV, Prof. Amna Eusaph; HOD Forensic Medicine, Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Dr. Bilal Azeem Butt, Dr. Ayub Naich, Faculty members, and Postgraduate Students attended the workshop.

The Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, highlighted the basic needs and main objectives of the training workshops about scientific research and publication in the modern era of AI.

Prof. Ayesha Humayun had a very interactive session with the participants in which she shared her vast knowledge about 1. Basic concepts of research methodology2. Effective literature searching and writing techniques using software and AI tools.3. Tips to prepare manuscripts for international top tier journals in global health.4. Also addressed the queries of the participants related to research designs, basic research methodology, and search engines for faculty joining the online link of the workshop.

The participants expressed the need and usefulness of such academic activities for faculty development and thanked the organisers.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir, who acknowledged the efforts of the whole faculty, the kind gesture of the worthy Pro Vice Chancellor and respected facilitator for exceptional teaching and simplification for residents as well as senior faculty, and the aim for the continuation of research workshops to an advanced level in the future to excel in the field of scientific writing.
