The Department of Medical Education, Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore, organised the 2nd contact session of the Batch 8th Certificate in Health Professionals Education (CHPE) course from December 4 to 6, 2023, under the kind patronage of the Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Presidential Pride of Performance) and under the supervision of Prof. Noreen Akmal, Principal, Fatima Jinnah Medical College/ Director Medical Education Department.
Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, chaired today’s session. The Vice Chancellor’s speech was full of motivation, and he expressed his vision regarding medical education in Pakistan and the role of Fatima Jinnah Medical University in promoting excellence in medical education. He said that a doctor must be an upright individual and possess leadership qualities.
Prof. Dr. Nabila Shami, a professor of obstetrics & gynaecology and renowned medical educationist, facilitated today’s session. She taught students about the basic concepts of learning strategies and learning teaching tools.
There were a total of 26 students enrolled in this batch. Out of these, 13 are from the FJMU and affiliated institutions, and 13 are from other teaching institutions and hospitals of the country.
Prof. Kamran Khalid, Pro Vice Chancellor/ Dean of Surgery, and Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Dean Nursing/ Chairperson Department of Medicine/ Director QEC, also attended the session.
Dr. Farah Rehman, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Education, organised and coordinated the session.
