SHANAWAR ALL PAKISTAN TRILINGUAL DECLAMATION CHAMPIONSHIP

Shanawar Debating Society, Fatima Jinnah Medical University hosted “Shanawar All Pakistan Trilingual Declamation Championship” on 3rd of October, 2023, under the supervision of Staff President, Dr. Naghmana Latif. The event was honoured by the presence of Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, the Vice Chancellor of FJMU, who honored the occasion as the chief guest.

Principal FJMC, Prof. Noreen Akmal delivered a welcoming speech that reflected the profound importance of freedom of speech and debating, while passionately encouraging students to actively participate in such activities.

The Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, shared his wisdom to the students of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, quoting his own debating journey, encouraging everyone to do the same.

The event was also honoured by the presence of Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, and Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir Chairperson Department of Medicine/ Dean Nursing who also serves as the Director of QEC FJMU.

The event’s meticulous organization was carried out by Dr. Asma Junaid, Dr. Faiza Abrar, and Dr. Amber Noreen, Maryam Fatima (President Shanawar Society) and Saffa Arif (President Shanawar Debating Society)

The distinguished panel of judges presiding over the All Pakistan Trilingual Declamation Championship included Dr. Sughra Sadaf (Urdu Adjudicator) , Dr. Qaiser (Urdu Adjudicator), Dr. Amna Malik Awan (Urdu), Dr. Amber (English ), Dr Alishba Iftikhar (English ), Mr. Umer nizami (Punjabi ), Dr. Tanveer (Punjabi)

A substantial turnout, featuring participants from diverse universities such as GC, PU, UCP, UVAS, KEMU, LMDC, PGC, AIMC, DEMONT, FMH, UET, GC (FSL), AGRICULTURE UNIVERSITY (FSL) and UOL enthusiastically participated in the event.

At the conclusion of the event, prizes were bestowed upon the winners as a token of appreciation. The winners are as under:

• Serious: Abdul Rehman KEMU – Winner

• Shayan Majeed PGC- Runner up

• Humourous: Nabeena PU -Winner

• Minahil UVAS – Runner up

*Urdu Category*:

• Serious: Saif ur Rehman GCU -Winner

• Anas Malik Ameer ud Din – Runner up

• Humourous: Ali hamza PGC- Winner

• Kubaib Akhtar UET – Runner up

*Punjabi Category*:

• Nalain Abbas GCU Lhr – Winner

• Rao Sharjeel GCU fsd – Runner up

• Rana Adnan KE -Winner

• Usman Haider UET- Runner up

Furthermore, prizes were also distributed among the dedicated executive board of the Shanawar Debating Society. Shields were presented to the judges and adjucators of the Shanawar All Pakistan Trilingual Declamation Championship in recognition of their contributions.

Trophy was presented to GCU Lahore as winner of the event.
