TRAINING SESSION ON INTRAVENOUS THROMBOLYSIS IN ACUTE STROKE

A training session on “Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Stroke” was arranged by the Neurology Department, FJMU/SGRH, on February 15, 2024, under the leadership of Prof. Bilquis Shabbir. (Chair Medicine, Dean Nursing, and Director QEC) and the kind patronage of Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal.
Prof. Dr. Azeem, Head of Department Pathology at King Abdullah Medical City, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and Prof. Dr. Shamsa Humayun, Ex-Vice Chancellor, FJMU and Ex-Chairperson of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department, FJMU/ SGRH, graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
Prof. Dr. Bilquis Shabbir gave the welcome address and highlighted the importance of Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Stroke.
VC-FJMU Prof Khalid Masud Gondal stressed about the importance of golden hour and shared his lifetime experiences. Brigadier Waqar Azeem appreciated the ongoing CME activities at FJMU and share how important it is to update knowledge.
The training session was delivered by Dr. Faheem Saeed, Head of Department Neurology, FJMU/ SGRH.
The target audience was the Faculty Members, Senior Registrars, Postgraduate Residents of Medicine Departments, and Neurology Department.
A detailed discussion on Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Stroke was done. Various aspects of managing a critically ill patient were taught. It was followed by a question and answer session led by Dr. Faheem Saeed.
Prof. Bilquis Shabbir made the concluding remarks that such activities have been a vital part of FJMU academics and aim at better healthcare provision to patients and updating the knowledge and skills of the upcoming young doctors.
A vote of thanks was paid by Dr. Faheem Saeed, and appreciated the keen interest shown by participants, followed by a group photo.
