TRAINING WORKSHOP ON BASIC LAPAROSCOPIC SKILLS HELD AT FATIMA JINNAH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, LAHORE

A training workshop for Doctors, on Basic Laparoscopic Skills was organised by the Department of Surgery Unit-III, FJMU/SGRH by Prof. Wasim Hayat Khan and Dr Naeem Shahzad held at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore.

Pro Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Prof. Wasim Hayat Khan and his team welcomed the Chief Guest and Guest Speakers Prof Waris Farooqa and Prof Shahzad Alam Shah, and

Postgraduate Students who attended the workshop.

The Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, highlighted the main objective of the training workshops about basic Laparoscopic skills.

Prof Shahzad Alam Shah highlighted the importance of ergonomics of laparoscopy.

Prof Waris Farooqa addressed on overview of Fundamentals of Laparoscopy surgery.

After the lectures there was hands on workshop of postgraduate trainees on 6 endo trainers

1) Hand eye conordination

2) traction counter traction

3) precision cutting

4) intra corpeal suturing

5) extra corpeal suturing

6) use of energy sealing devices

The workshop was concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Dr Wasim Hayat Khan, who acknowledged the efforts of whole faculty.
