TRAINING WORKSHOP ON CLINICAL MANAGEMENT OF DENGUE FEVER AT FATIMA JINNAH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

The Department of Medicine organised a training workshop on Clinical Management of Patients suffering from Dengue Fever at Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore. The workshop was held under the kind patronage of the worthy Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal.

Principal Fatima Jinnah Medical College Professor Noreen Akmal graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Professor Muhammad Aftab, Head of Department Medical Unit 3, welcomed the distinguished guest along with his team.

Chairperson, Department of Medicine/ Dean, Faculty of Nursing/ Director, Quality Enhancement Cell Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Registrar Prof. Muhammad Nadeem Kasuri, Prof. Naeem Afzal, Prof. Shamila Ejaz Munir, faculty members, house officers, and a large number of postgraduate and undergraduate students participated in the workshop.

Prof. Bilqius Shabbir highlighted the main objective of the training workshops: to create awareness about dengue, promote preventive measures, and further improve health facilities. She also congratulated Prof. Muhammad Aftab for conducting the successful workshop. She explained the significance of recognising the red flags of leaky phase of Dengue Fever.

In the training workshop, various other speakers delivered talks: Dr. Shoaib Niazi SR Medical Unit-II highlighted the important points related to dengue fever, Dr. Ali Shoaib SR Medical Unit-III informed about documentation and monitoring of dengue patients, and Dr. Mugheesa SR Medical Unit-I gave a detailed discussion on fluid management during dengue fever.

At the end of the Seminar, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aftab thanked all the distinguished guests and appreciated the efforts of young doctors, nurses, and paramedics.
