WHO DELEGATION VISITED FATIMA JINNAH MEDICAL UNIVERSITY AND SIR GANGA RAM HOSPITAL

A delegation of World Health Organization (WHO) led by Dr. Palitha Mahipala, Country Head of WHO Pakistan, visited Fatima Jinnah Medical University/Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Dr. Jamshed Ahmed Head of Office WHO Punjab, Dr. Abdul Nasir PEI Team Lead Punjab, Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi National Professional Officer EPI WHO Punjab, Dr. Fayaz Butt WHO Divisional EPI. Officer Lahore Division, Dr. Atif Javed WHO Consultant for Covid-19 and Dr. Ehtishamul Haq Director Health Services EPI Punjab also accompanied country head..
The Vice Chancellor, Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal welcomed the delegation and gave briefing about FJMU/ SGRH. He briefed the delegation about Fatima Jinnah Medical University updates and performance in the field of medical education, teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students with special emphasis on Research.
The delegation also visited Fatima Jinnah Institute of Mother and Child Health and inaugurated the Neonatal Immunization Center. On this occasion, he expressed that HDU, ICU and with the latest modern medical facilities, Fatima Jinnah Institute of Mother and Child Health is providing quality health care to ailing humanity.He further said that the medical facilities available here are in no way inferior to the facilities available in Hospitals established in developed countries. He said that under the supervision of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, this Institute will continue to provide the best healthcare facilities to the ailing Humanity. While inaugurating the Immunization Center, he was pleased to know that there will be 24/7 vaccination facility available for new-borns. Vaccination is a very important means of preventing disease and reducing mortality. It is one of the best immunization centers established in Pakistan. Giving an important message to the parents, he said that their children must be vaccinated to curtail morbidity and mortality rate.
