WORKSHOP ON “ACHIEVEMENT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS” BY QUALITY ENHANCEMENT CELL, FJMU

Quality Enhancement Cell, FJMU under the patronship of VC-FJMU, Prof Khalid Masud Gondal and supervision of Director QEC, Prof Bilquis Shabbir. The workshop “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” was held by QEC on 07-01-2023 in DME Conference Hall as a series of Post Conference Workshops of Annual Scientific Symposium 2022. Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Director QEC, Mr. Muhammad Omer Yasin, Deputy Director QEC and Mr. Muhammad Bilal Baig, Data Analyst QEC, were the facilitators of the workshop.

The Chief Guest was Dr Zakiuddin, CEO Digital Health, Director, Riphah Institute of Healthcare Improvement & Safety;. ProVC Prof Shamsa Hamayun, Principal FJMC, Prof Munizza Qayyum, QEC Committee Dr Taskeen Zohra, Dr Saira Munawar, Dr Romaisa , other selected faculty and staff members from various teaching and administrative departments attended the workshop.

Prof. Bilquis Shabbir (Director QEC) gave a comprehensive introduction about the topic and working of QEC to get FJMU ranked in renowned world higher education ranking bodies. Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal, Vice Chancellor FJMU, welcomed the Chief Guest, and announced the upcoming International Conference on Patient Safety, by Ripha University, going to be hosted by Fatima Jinnah Medical University in mid March, 2023. He appreciated the working of Director QEC and her team and encouraged the participants to put their efforts to bring FJMU among world best medical universities.

Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed,visionary strategist ,healthcare entrepreneur, and Conference Chairman/Director RIHIS, joined as the Chief Guest of the session and applauded the vision of Vice Chancellor in digitalization healthcare sector of Pakistan. He expressed his enthusiasm over opportunity of mutual learning at the upcoming Conference

The purpose of the workshop was to enlighten FJMU faculty and staff members about the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 set by United Nations, and FJMU contributions towards achieving those goals. Participants were briefed about the sustainable development, history and background of SDGs, Pakistan’s progress in achieving these goals and FJMU contributions towards achieving these goals. The facilitators also briefed the participants about Times Higher Education Impact ranking and FJMU participation in 2023 ranking.
