The Department of Medical Education arranged a workshop on”Communication skills” for PGRs of MD/MS in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences at FJMU/SGRH.
Principal FJMC Prof. Noreen Akmal graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The workshop was attended by the Chairperson of the Department of Medicine/ Dean Nursing/ Director QEC, Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Assistant Professor DME Dr. Farah Rehman, faculty members, and PGRs.
The Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Aysha Rashid, and Assistant Professor, Dr. Mariam Iftikhar, served as facilitators of the workshop.
The co-facilitators of the workshop include the senior registrar, Dr. Nasir Ali, and clinical psychologists, Ms. Lubna, Ms. Kinza, Ms. Shaireen, Ms. Fakhra, and Ms. Tasneem.
The workshop continued for three days.
On Day 1, the lectures on Effective Communication Counselling and Digital Communication were delivered.
On Day 2, the lectures onEffective FeedbackPresentations and Time Management Conflict Resolution were delivered.
On Day 3, the lectures on Interprofessional Communication and Assertive Skill TrainingBreaking bad news were delivered.
It was a wonderful experience, and PGRs have given positive feedback. It was hoped that this type of workshop would be continued under the kind patronage of the worthy Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal, in a more better way.
